ABOUT

Keep creating, especially when everything is falling apart.
In both form and content, our creations grapple with the imbalances of our time and explore, among other things, the relationship between the personal and the collective. We focus on the collective experience of live art, playing with the visceral, spatial, and allegorical power of bodies and words. This fusion of dance and theatre, far from losing themselves in one another, instead rediscovers each other through a mutually reinforcing blend; in an uncompromising fusion.
Mission
Mille feux is a Montreal-based research, creation, and production organization in the performing arts, fostering encounters and collaborations within the national and international artistic community. Mille feux prioritizes a relationship that encourages dialogue with a broad audience.
Mandate
> To produce works driven by strong aesthetic, physical and dramaturgical research;

Marilyn Daoust is a dance performer, choreographer, and actress. Magnetic, passionate, and dedicated, she launched a promising career in 2011, performing in Canada and internationally. As a performer, she has worked with artists including Manon Oligny, Louise Bédard, Marie Béland, Angela Konrad, Jessica Poirier-Chang, Julie Artacho, Liliane Moussa, Jean-François Guilbault, Théâtre INK, Julien Blais, Daina Ashbee, Lucie Grégoire, and Cirque du Soleil.
Since 2016, Marilyn has signed 24 choreographic commissions in the theatre world, including, among others, “Je t'écris au milieu d'un bel orage” (2023-2024) and “Le Misanthrope” (2024) at the TNM as well as for the play "Une vie intelligente" at the Duceppe (2025).
She co-created Material Relations with Anna Stamp in Aarhus and Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2020 and 2021. She founded Mille feux with Gabriel Léger-Savard, and together they created Le temps des fruits (completed in the National Selection at RIDEAU in 2022 and 2023, and touring Quebec from 2022 to 2024) and the piece L du Déluge , performed by 12 actors on stage (Théâtre La Chapelle, 2022). Marilyn recently began research for the piece Vivaces during a month-long residency in Brussels (spring 2023). She had the honour of being the Quebec artist selected for a two-month residency between Bassano del Grappa, Italy, and Montreal, thanks to the CALQ, Circuit-Est choreographic centre, and the Centro per la Scena Contemporanea. She currently has the opportunity to be a "luxury guest" artist at Théâtre Aux Écuries (2023-25), where the next creation of Mille feux will take place: Entre nous sommes pris entre nous.

A history and politics enthusiast, he is said to be sensitive, a good listener, full of a funky spirit, and, despite himself, possessing an innate sense of organization and production (which proves to be very useful to him). Gabriel Léger-Savard has accumulated a wealth of theatrical experience (physical work, choir, objects, shadows, writing, directing, radio, podcasting, television, advertising, and street theatre), working as a performer for the past ten years.
Creativity has always been part of his practice; he values everything that touches the gut and brings us together.
An artist in the city, for five years he co-directed Comptoir public, a multidisciplinary site-specific production collective (Les postes du futur, L'épigramme – média social de rue). Since 2016, he has actively supported the Inuit of Nunavik in establishing Théâtre Aaqsiiq, a new institution that promotes the rich Inuit culture and language of this region. He has also served (and continues to serve) on boards of directors within the arts community.
